On November 21, 2024, Yes Arts received the Governor’s Award in the Arts for Community Impact!

We are so thankful for everyone who came out to support us in the Capitol Rotunda.

We might’ve received the award, but Frankfort is a special place full of incredible people and we couldn’t have done this without the support of our community!

Shout out to our amazing team, founding artists and director, teaching artists, funders, current and retired board members, program partners, city and county leadership and to each individual who has trusted us with their journey.

We are so grateful for this honor!

Special thanks to Governor Andy Beshear for your support of our community and your recognition of the value of the arts in Kentucky, and to the Kentucky Arts Council’s fabulous team for putting together an awesome event!

The day was wonderful and made even more special when we got to celebrate alongside fellow award winners:

Gregory Turay - Artist Award

Jeffery E. Reed - Community Arts Award - Individual

Louisville Academy of Music - Education Award

Cheryl Pan - Folk Heritage Award

Carl M. Brashear Radcliff Veterans Center - Government Award

Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer - Media Award

Tyler Childers - National Award

Mark Lenn Johnson - Milner Award

 our programs…

Yes Arts programs follow evidence-based, data-driven practices and work within all stages of the cycle of addiction, from primary prevention to recovery.

Yes Arts offers therapeutic arts services, through our ART (Achieving Recovery Together) Program, for people in recovery from substance use disorder in partnership with the Franklin County Drug Court and other local nonprofit partners.

Yes Arts provides a robust youth prevention program known as YAY (Yes Arts Youth). YAY Program Leaders and Youth Mentors are trained on trauma-informed care, implicit bias, neurodiversity, child abuse, and ACES (Adverse Childhood Experiences) risk and protective factors. YAY exists to create a safe, inclusive space for children of all ages and abilities to find strong mentors, lasting friendships and quality arts instruction to reduce the risk of falling into the cycle of addiction and to mitigate harm due to generational trauma.

Yes Arts offers community programs: a professional gallery featuring the work of local and regional artists, outreach programs for community engagement and a roster of more than 75 teaching artists.
