Water erodes the land, and rust eats away at the metal. We know that Frankfort floods and its effects are felt well after the waters recede. This is an old railroad bridge where the water and the rust are working. The city/county/state is having to replace road, bridges, and other infrastructure because they are structurally unstable. With more and more funds going to improve the infrastructure, we are losing funds to improve places for kids and families. While the updates are much needed, we need to find a balance that allows for improvements but doesn't neglect the work that is desperately needed in prevention.​
