Today, the Central Kentucky Homemakers Quilt Guild is proud to have more than 60 members who share a passion for quilting and creativity. Our members create an impressive variety of quilts, showcasing a wide range of styles, techniques, and artistic expression. From traditional patterns to contemporary designs, vibrant colors to soft earth tones, and machine piecing to hand appliqué, every quilt reflects the unique talents of its maker.
Our quilts feature machine quilting, hand quilting, and tied finishes, using everything from standard cotton fabrics to hand-dyed and hand-painted textiles. Creations range in size from king-size bed quilts to baby quilts and intricate miniatures. While many members enjoy following established patterns, others embrace improvisational quilting to create one-of-a-kind works of art.

Artist Bio
The Central Kentucky Homemakers Quilt Guild (CKHQG) of Frankfort, Kentucky, was established in August 1992. The Guild's mission is to foster the art of quilting, encourage appreciation and participation in quilt-making in all its forms, promote interest in quilting through education and fellowship, and support the community through the charitable donation of quilts and other handmade items.
CKHQG meets monthly at the Franklin County Cooperative Extension Office in Frankfort.
In addition to sharing members' creative work and quilting techniques, the Guild is dedicated to numerous community service projects. Members create quilts for Quilts of Valor, Hosparus, Quilts Across America, and Quilts for Kids. They also sew pillowcases and sheets for the Golisano Children's Hospital at the University of Kentucky, make Beads of Courage bags for children receiving medical treatment, make items to sell at the Homemakers Annual Holiday Store and prepare holiday stockings for Meals on Wheels recipients. Through these efforts, the Guild combines a love of quilting with a longstanding commitment to serving others.
