The peace embodied in this photo of a transgender young adult born and raised in Franklin County was over a decade in the making and hard won with the support of parents, teachers, therapists, friends, leaders and loved ones. This talented, smart, funny, brave and loving person was and is lucky but also battles daily for acceptance, equality, and even acknowledgment. We must include these voices in all aspects of prevention and wellness. We must remember them, hear them, include them, appreciate and protect them. ​
