In Frankfort and Franklin County, we are rich in community resources and services. This photo, the logo of Stewart Home and School, represents the spirit of community connections. The Stewart Home and School is a community that provides care and education to individuals with intellectual disabilities. Youth (and adults) with intellectual disabilities are often overlooked and voices not heard. Community connections are essential to those with intellectual disabilities and are known to decrease isolation and increase empathy, independence, and trust. This photo was taken during a time of uncertainty, but it represents that through the strength of community connection, services and resources can be available to everyone. Regardless of ability, everyone has the right to live and contribute to our community. It is important to include those normally underrepresented in all services and resources. Every life matters.
