Position: Part Time, Non Exempt - Development Specialist

Schedule: Flexible, Hybrid/Remote

Reports to: Executive Director

Yes Arts is seeking a highly organized, self-driven, and detail-oriented individual who embodies our values of compassion, integrity, and respect.

Overview

The Development Specialist will be responsible for oversight and coordination of a comprehensive annual grants plan.

  • Research, write, update, manage and execute the Yes Arts grants plan including grant strategies, research plan, work timeline, resources needed, grants calendar and spreadsheet of grant/RFP opportunities.

  • Apply for grants that align with Yes Arts’ mission and strategic plan. 

  • Prepare and submit grant application proposals to determine concepts, gather and write materials, meet with partners, and obtain letters of support.

  • Manage and administer all grants received: submitting required documentation, impact reports, financial reports, scheduling and requests for draws.

  • Generate Grant Reports on a regular basis, determined by ED and in preparation for Grant Applications, Board Meetings, End-of-Year, etc.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related field preferred

  • Three years of experience in grant management preferred

  • Demonstrated knowledge and success in project oversight

  • Knowledge of non-profit organizations, marginalized populations and/or the arts is preferred

  • Extremely organized and meticulous with details

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines

  • Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritize work and resources

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with personal information that may be needed for some grants, such as employee salaries or upcoming projects

  • Proficient in basic computer based programs including Google Drive/Docs/Sheets/Forms, Microsoft Word/Excel, Canva, and willing to learn other applications

  • Ability to satisfactorily pass a comprehensive background screen

  • Valid driver’s license
