Sturgill Simpson wrote and performs a song called Long White Line about life of the road. He is searching for the end of that long white line. Our county stretches far and wide. We may not be the biggest county, but the geography of our county leads to challenges. One of the biggest challenges we face is transportation of youth to events and activities. We have people that live 5-10 miles away from school, but it can take over 30 minutes one way for them to come to an event in town. Coming to an event outside of school hours is something that must be planned by the family well in advance so that it is not seen as a wasted trip into town. We can plan and host events all day long, but it is difficult to get people to show up. Unless we can have access to reliable transportation in our more rural areas, the people that will show up are the same that come regardless of what we host.​
